This website covers my life and my work in music, art, photography and film. It includes my childhood, schooling and early musical influences as well as my life in the creative arts and my years in education. The creative visual work is shown in various portfolio pages. The site also includes stories and photos of the people I have worked with over many years in the music business.
To put these stories into some order there is a Timeline. The episodes for this were drawn from a couple of recording sessions in May and June 2015 in conversation with the writer Roger Mills. You can listen to the downloads of these sessions here (total time about 4 hours) or at the beginning of the Timeline.
If you want to use any of my own photographs for research, or would like to reproduce them in print or other media please let me know first. The music photographs of John Mayall and Colosseum, the paintings and photographs of ships and dockyards, and some of the ‘For Those in Peril’ constructions can be ordered as Giclee display prints. For all enquiries please email Studio Manager Hanelle Levine for more details.
There is also a portfolio featuring what I call ‘Art-Wear’: the embroidered and applique demin jackets that I have been making on and off since the early days when the Thunderbolts were on the road. For more information about the existing jackets please let us know.
The website is designed and managed by John Wallett. Please email him if you have any technical problems using it.
