Studio Shots

They were mostly casual shots. For somebody to have that access now would be impossible because of all the hype – it has changed from being a music business to an industry. Managers wouldn’t agree to it or there’d be too many spokes in the wheel. We did a hell of a lot with Colloseum because they’d just got a new deal and they needed photographs. John Hiseman from Colloseum had been in one of John’s bands and because they knew we were doing the thing with John they were used to us taking pictures. In any case, people weren’t cut off from fans. As a musician I’d always go and drink in the students’ bars where we did a concert, the pub near the theatre. And people would come up and have a chat. The sixties – you could go up and talk with Jimi Hendrix, you know what I mean? Good times really.
